Brachioplasty is a body contouring procedure designed to correct ptosis (drooping or sagging) of the upper inner arm. The condition develops when the skin loses its elasticity — due to significant weight loss, ageing, or genetic predisposition — and no longer retracts following changes in body composition. The procedure removes the excess skin panel from the axilla (armpit) to the elbow along the inner arm. The resulting incision is carefully placed in the natural axillo-brachial crease, where it remains hidden when the arms are at rest alongside the body.

The scar runs along the inner arm crease, from the axilla toward the elbow. When placed correctly and treated with the Ribxcar protocol, it becomes progressively pale and flat between 6 and 12 months after surgery. It is effectively invisible when the arms rest alongside the body.
Yes. Dr. Fathi regularly combines arm lift surgery with liposuction, inner thigh lift (cruroplasty), or a full body lift as part of a post-weight-loss transformation programme.
For desk-based or sedentary work, most patients return within 7 to 10 days. Jobs involving physical effort with the arms require a 4 to 6-week rest period.
The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia. Post-operatively, a pulling or tightening sensation is normal for 3 to 5 days and is well managed with prescribed pain relief.
A true brachioplasty always involves an incision. Where laxity is minimal and fat excess is the primary concern, liposuction alone may improve contour without a long incision. Dr. Fathi will assess this option during your consultation.
Results are long-lasting provided weight remains stable. The excised skin does not grow back. Significant weight gain after surgery may cause residual tissues to loosen.
For international patients, Dr. Fathi generally recommends a minimum stay of 7 to 10 days in Agadir before flying. This allows for the first dressing change and post-operative assessment to be completed locally.
